Drawing is the Thing Behind things

Illustration is, at its core, a function of drawing. It is the way I capture and interpret the world around me, and the ideas in my head. A strong foundation in drawing gives way to creative freedom. For me, this means if I want to create a character from scratch, or imagine something familiar in a new way, I must be able to draw it. This is my first love and most valuable asset.

Whether designing a 4-story mural, painting a portrait on canvas, or creating a digital caricature; everything is a drawing problem first. With a strong foundation in drawing and some imagination, there are no limits to what can be created.

“Working with Dan on the large scale murals he did for The Whit was a fun, collaborative process.”
